Although cupping is based heavily off of traditional Chinese medicine, there have been many advances and modifications made to this treatment style. Traditionally, the cups are placed on areas of the body to improve blood flow & circulation, help with lymphatic drainage, and reduce pain. This is commonly placed on injured muscles as well as irritated/sensitive nerves.

Here at FPI, we also incorporate “dynamic cupping” in which either the patient is performing movement and/or the cups are being moved along the skin during movement to improve the sliding ability of the muscles and tissues under the skin.
